Father Time has lately shown many moods;-----

The riotous colors of Autumn are gone,

The peaceful monotones of Winter crown

With frost the mountain range, valley and woods.

Time; a wonderful alchemist art thou-----

The oldest year of the world dead and gone,

While the youngest comes without a frown,

Bearing tidings of cheer upon his brow-----

The old and the new met and came on time

Alike heedless of centuries and cycles
